Around the Lake
There have been a number of important events in the lives of some of our lake families this year. Here is a partial listing. Remember to send your news to the Newsletter editor for inclusion in the next issue. This is one way we can stay in touch with each other.
Mimi and Peter Budzik welcome their new granddaughter, Katrina Mollie, who was born on September 15 to Claire (Budzik) and Doug Fyse.
Alex and Vivian Chapman are the proud grandparents of James Robert who was born October 10, 1997 to son Christopher and daughter-in-law Cindy.
On August 7 at the Old Mill Chapel in Toronto, Bruce, son of Mary and Bob Davis, and Shelley Smith were married.
Ken, son of Angelo and Dorothy Diana, and Heidi McLaughlin were married on July 18. After honeymooning in eastern Canada and Newfoundland, Ken and Heidi will both teach for the former Etobicoke Board of Education.
Bert and Patty Naylor had two weddings in their family this year. Nancy Naylor and Andrew Sarangan were married on March 15, 1998 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. David Naylor and Kimberley Baird were married in May in Memphis, Tennessee and will live in Ottawa. David is often heard an CBC radio. Recently he was in Malaysia covering the Commonwealth Games and had to switch to political reporting when large anti-government demonstrations occurred.
Tim, son of Brenda and Fritz Schmidt, and Janice Gill were married on June 20, 1998 in Markham.
Karen, daughter of Barbara and George Wilson, was married to Mike Moore on March 14, 1998 in Brampton. A second happy event was the birth of Marissa Rose on April 20, 1998 to son David and daughter-in-law Annie Sandra. Appropriately for a Minnicock baby, Marissa Rose managed to be born on Earth Day.
